What is Kombucha?
Kombucha is a brew of sweet tea that is fermented using a special culture called a SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast). In the fermentation process, the SCOBY consumes the majority of sugar, leaving behind a tangy, effervescent beverage that not only tastes delicious but is touted for many health benefits. Here are a few of the many beneficial attributes of kombucha: (1) full of detoxifying organic acids (similar to apple cider vinegar), (2) rich in vitamins, antioxidants, and enzymes, (3) great source of beneficial probiotics, (4) a healthy substitute for soda or alcohol beverages. The beauty of Kombucha is that it perfectly complements any occasion, offering an early morning boost, a mid-day pick-up, or even an evening recovery drink.
At Flower Crown, we use an all-organic blend of Gunpowder Green Tea, Assam Black Tea, and cane sugar, along with Reverse Osmosis water as our tea base. This tea base is then fermented with our special SCOBY culture for 3-weeks until it reaches tangy perfection. If you weren’t already excited to grab a glass of our kombucha, a panel of scientists recently agreed that our Flower Crown Kombucha is the perfect pairing for a beach day or grilling out on the patio with friends — so don’t forget to grab a growler to go! Jokes aside, we are honored and excited to welcome you to our taproom and introduce you to our unique, balanced style of kombucha! We offer a variety of flavors ranging from fruity to rooty. Not sure which flavor to try? Grab a flight to try four different flavors at once!
